Real Madrid are considering a potential move for Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as they begin planning for the long-term future of their goalkeeping position.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing journalist Ben Fernandes Santos, the Spanish club have identified the 24-year-old Dutch international as a possible successor to Thibaut Courtois.

However, a transfer is not expected in the immediate future, as Real Madrid have yet to initiate negotiations with Brighton.

The La Liga giants are also reportedly planning to extend the contract of 34-year-old Courtois until 2028, suggesting that the Belgian goalkeeper remains central to their short-term plans.

According to the report, Brighton have valued Verbruggen at approximately €40 million.

The Dutch goalkeeper has impressed with his performances this season, making 13 appearances across all competitions. He has conceded just seven goals while keeping 10 clean sheets.

Verbruggen's performances have reportedly attracted Real Madrid's attention as the club looks to secure a reliable long-term replacement for Courtois.
